Conformance Status

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA. Emmi's Lake Geneva is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 level AA. Partially conformant means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard. However, we are actively working to make improvements to the accessibility of our site.

Accessible Features

Below, you will find a list of the technological solutions we have integrated to make our website easy to navigate and accessible.

Photos:

• Alt Text: Alt attributes provide written descriptions of images and are visible when the mouse is hovered over an image. This solution is also useful for people who have images turned off on their browser, in which case a description will be displayed where an image used to be.

Perceivable:

• Provide text alternatives for non-text content.
• Provide captions and other alternatives for multimedia.

Operable:

• Make all functionality available from a keyboard.
• Give users enough time to read and use content.
• Do not use content that causes seizures.
• Help users navigate and find content.

Understandable:

• Make text readable and understandable.
• Make content appear and operate in predictable ways.

Working Towards

• Creating Breadcrumbs: Breadcrumbs make it easier for someone to navigate their way back to the root folder.
